Olmsted 200 Portland:

Parks are a concept that are often taken for granted, with their green and sometimes wild spaces. It is easy to forget that behind each of these public spaces there was a great mind with a vision of how to make that space and turn it into an experience for all those who walk through it. Fredrick Law Olmsted was one of the pioneers in the design of American Public Parks. His work spans from Central Park to the canyon trails in Yosemite National Park and his inspiration is shown throughout Portland's own park designs. This year would have been Olmsted's 200th birthday, so in celebration organizations all around Portland are having events in our city's parks all throughout the summer! Keep up to date on each event on the Portland Parks Conservancy's website: Olmsted 200 Portland — Portland Parks Conservancy
