Council News

During its March 21, 2022 meeting, the City Council acted upon the following items: 


  • The Council unanimously approved seven business licenses. 


  • Order 152-21/22 Approving the Agreements between the Maine DOT and the City of Portland Re: Forest Avenue Paving (Passed unanimously 9-0 with an amendment)
  • Order 161-21/22 Accepting and Appropriating $37,500 in Donations for the Portland Youth Corps (Passed unanimously, 9-0)
  • Order 162-21/22 Approving the Maine Public Employees Retirement System Special Plan 3C for Certain Non-Union Employees (Passed unanimously 9-0)
  • Order 163-21/22 Authorizing General Obligation Bonds to Finance Portion of City's Fiscal Year '23 Capital Improvement Program in Amount not to Exceed $21,145,000 (Passed unanimously 9-0 with an amendment)
  • Order 164-21/22 Appropriating Bond Proceeds + other Funds in Amount not to Exceed $30,770,000 for City's Fiscal Year '23 Capital Improvement Program (Passed unanimously 9-0)
  • Order 165-21/22 Approving Three-Party Agreement between the Portland Area Comprehensive Traffic System, Maine DOT +  City of Portland Re: Improvements to Cumberland Avenue (Passed unanimously 9-0)


  • Order 178-21/22 Renaming Farm Field in Payson Park the Ron A. Farr Field (Passed unanimously 9-0)
  • Order 179-21/22 Accepting + Adopting the 2022 Jill C. Duson Housing Trust Fund Annual Plan (Passed unanimously 9-0)
  • Order 180-21/22 Approving City Application for Federal Funds to Dredge Public and Private Berthing and Vessel Support Resources and to Develop a - Confined Aquatic Disposal (CAD) Cell in Portland Harbor (Passed unanimously 9-0)
  • Order 181-21/22 Approving the Modification of Agreement between Maine DOT + Portland Re: West Commercial Street Multi-Use Path (Passed unanimously 9-0)
