Portland Issues Request for Proposals for Food Concessions Operations at Deering Oaks

News Update

The City of Portland has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) to solicit proposals to select an experienced and qualified food service vendor to lease and operate the café concession at the historic Castle-in-the-Park in Deering Oaks. Proposals must be received by Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 3:00 PM. The successful proposer may also choose to operate a rental of outdoor equipment to be used on the pond during winter and summer months. It is the intent of the City to have the selected vendor offer to the public a variety of food products and beverages at a reasonable cost.

A mandatory pre-proposal meeting will take place at the Castle on Tuesday, February 15 at 2:OOPM. The purpose of this meeting is to review the specifications and requirements of the RFP, and to allow potential proposers an opportunity to examine the site. Proposers should meet outside the main entrance of the Castle; masks will be required for the entire meeting (you must bring your own mask as there will not be masks available at the meeting). Only those firms represented at this meeting may bid on the project.

Sealed proposals must be submitted electronically to bidsubmit@portlandmaine.gov and include: the name of the Proposer, Contract Name, and RFP number in the subject line. Proposals may also be submitted via USPS, UPS or FedEx to: City of Portland, Purchasing Rm.103, 389 Congress St., Portland ME 04101.

To obtain a copy of the RFP, please contact the City’s Purchasing Office via email at JRL@portlandmaine.gov or via phone at 207.874.8654.
