[ARCHIVED] Portland Translates Age-Friendly Resource Guide into Four Languages

Portland’s Age Friendly Steering Committee, working with AARP and lead by the City's Office of Elder Affairs, created new versions of the Age-Friendly Portland Resource Guide translated in the four languages most commonly spoken in Portland: Arabic, French, Somali, and Spanish. The printed guides will be made available to local agencies as well as City staff who work with immigrants and refugees; helping elder citizens have access to service information in their own language.

Portland is the first AARP Livable Community to ask for translation in multiple languages.

View or download the new guides on the City of Portland website. To receive a printed copy, please contact: Linda Weare, Director, Office of Elder Affairs,

The City of Portland Office of Elder Affairs aims to creatively and collaboratively address issues that present hardships for Portland residents as they age. Learn more about Age Friendly Portland.
