250 Canco Road - Neighborhood Meeting Notice

To Properties Owners and Interested Parties:

RE:  250 Canco Road

The City of Portland has submitted an application to rezone approximately 78,000 square feet of land from the C-50 contract zone (with an underlying zone of I-L low impact industrial) to I-M moderate impact industrial zone at 250 Canco Road.  The City-owned property serves as the municipal facility for the Departments of Public Works and Parks, Recreation, and Facilities. The City acquired an adjoining parcel, which was in the conditional zone, and seeks to have the entire city property within the one industrial zoning designation of IM.  The proposal is subject to review and a recommendation by the Planning Board.

Please join us for a neighborhood meeting to discuss the rezoning.  The neighborhood meeting will be held:

Meeting Location:  250 Canco Road, Training Room (enter through the front door and go to the left)

Meeting Date:  Wednesday, November 14, 2018

Meeting Time:  6:00 – 7:00 p.m.

(The City code requires that property owners within 500 feet (1000 feet for proposed industrial subdivision and industrial zone changes) of the proposed development and residents on an “interested parties list”, be invited to participate in a neighborhood meeting.  A sign-in sheet will be circulated and minutes of the meeting will be taken.  Both the sign-in sheet and minutes will be submitted to the Planning Board.)  If you have any questions, please contact Christian Roadman, Planner, at (207)874-8984 or e-mail at croadman@portlandmaine.gov

Note:

Under Section 14-32(c) and 14-524(a)d of the City Code of Ordinances, an applicant for a Level III development, subdivision or over five lots/units, or zone change is required to hold a neighborhood meeting within 30 days of submitting a preliminary application or 21 days of submitting a final site plan application, if a preliminary plan was not submitted.  The neighborhood meeting must be held at least 7 days prior to the Planning Board public hearing on the proposal.  Should you wish to offer additional comments on this proposed development, you may contact the Planning Division at 874-8721 or send written correspondence to planningboard @portlandmaine.gov
