Canco Woods

Nestled between two neighborhoods, this 16.5 acre open space has trails, wildlife habitat, a small pond and two benches. This green space is a perfect example of an urban forest; it provides an opportunity for people to access nature within the city limits, provides a critical travel corridor and habitat for wildlife and absorbs and filters storm-water. In the fall of 2019 a partnership with Portland Trails and Portland Parks along with a grant from AARP initiated a trail improvement project that created a wheelchair and walker accessible loop.

This park space has been placed into Portland’s Land Bank by the Land Bank Commission and City Council for protection under City of Portland’s Code of Ordinance, Chapter 18
